01 science                                                                n.科学

记 sci(知道)＋－ence(表示状态、性质、行为)

渴望知道(sci)更多的事情是钻研科学(science)需要的态度(－ence).

配the laws of science 科学定律

例The best discoveries in science are very simple.最伟大的科学发现都非常简单.

02 stay                                                      v.停留;待 n.逗留;作客

配stay at home 待在家里

例Can't you stay a few more days?你不能多待几天吗?

03 summer                                                           n.夏天;夏季

配 in summer 在夏天           summer holidays 暑假

例It's very hot here in summer.这里夏天很热.

04 turn                                                          v.转动;转向;翻转

辩turn是普通用词,指外形、颜色、气味、性质等方面发生变化.vary指根据某一情况的变化而变化,也指更改某事物.

配turn up/down调大／小(音量)turn on/off打开／关闭

例The wheels of the car began to turn.汽车的轮子开始转动起来.

05 regular                                                    adj.规则的;有规律的

例Regular exercise helps prevent weight gain.经常锻炼有助于防止体重增加.

06 future                                                            n.将来;未来

配in future 在将来(从今以后的全部将来)

in the future 在将来(未来某一时间段)

例The future is not without hope.未来并非没有希望.

07 study                                                          v.& n.学习;研究

注study后面一般不接动词不定式作宾语,但可以接动词不定式作状语.

例It is important to develop good study skills.培养良好的学习方法很重要.

08 technology                                                         n.科技;工艺

延technological adj.技术的          technologist n.技术专家

辩technique 指具体的技术,表示做某事的方法或技巧.technology是技术的总称,表示科学的和工业的生产过程和技术.

例A third of the cost went into technology and services.三分之一的支出都用于技术和服务.

09 through                                                      prep.以;凭借;穿过

配go through经历;经受            get through 通过;接通(电话)

例I have to get through the exam.我必须通过这场考试.

10 environment                                                           n.环境

近circumstance n.环境

例The environment has become a very hot issue.环境已经成为一个很热门的话题.

11 history                                                                 n.历史

记hi(你好)＋story(故事)→history

延 historical adj.(有关)历史的 historian n.历史学家

例 She's studying art history.她正在研读艺术史.
