基础过关
There once lived a beautiful white elephant in the forest, and everyone wanted to look at her. The news reached the king (国王).
The king wished to have this elephant for himself, so he asked his men to find the elephant. After a year, the king’s men found where she lived, and took her to the king.
The king was very happy and he asked his men to train the elephant. But it was very difficult and those men often beat (打) her. One day, the elephant tried hard to run away and made her way into the forest. She ran for months, fearing (害怕) the king’s men might follow and find her. Luckily, the king’s men didn’t.
However, the elephant couldn’t make the bad memory (记忆) go away. Every time the wind blew in the trees, she started to run. She didn’t stop until she became very tired.
One day, the wind blew again and she started to run as usual. After running in fear for many hours, the elephant stopped near an old tree. The tree could feel her great fear. He said to her, “The wind is not your enemy (敌人). Do not be afraid of the wind. Your fear is in your mind.”
