Jin Yong is one of the most famous martial arts novel (武侠小说) writers. Jin learned a lot about traditional Chinese culture when he was young. Jin wrote 15 martial arts novels, including The Legend of the Condor Heroes (《射雕英雄传》). Over 300 million copies of his works have been sold (被售).

Qian Xuesen is a great Chinese scientist. He was born in Hangzhou, China in 1911. He graduated (毕业) from the Shanghai Jiaotong University in 1934 and left to study in America in 1935. In 1955, he returned to China. In 1956, he helped begin a programme to build China’s first rocket (火箭) and missile (导弹). In 1991, he was honoured (被誉为) in China as a scientist with outstanding achievements (杰出成就).
