一、There be 结构

There be结构表示“某地或某时有某人或某物”。其特点主要有三个：

1.该句型的一般疑问句形式要将be动词提到there之前。

其肯定回答为：Yes, there+be 的适当形式，

否定回答为：No，there+be的适当形式+ not.。

例句：—Is there a bank in the neighborhood? 这儿附近有银行吗？

—Yes,there is. 是的，有。

2.该句型的否定句形式是在be动词的后面加not。

例句：There aren’t any books on the desk. 桌子上没有书。

3.该句型中be动词人称或数的变化与离它最近的名词保持一致。如果有两个或更多的名词，be动词要与它最靠近的名词保持一致，即遵循“就近原则”。

例句：There are two pencils and a pen in my pencilcase. = There is a pen and two pencils in my pencilcase. 在我的铅笔盒里有两支铅笔和一支钢笔。

There be结构的用法：

there be结构可译“有”，  be后跟着名词走。如果名词是单数，当用is记清楚。

   如果名词是复数，用are一定要记住。 并列主语特殊记，“就近原则”用仔细。

某人有某物要用have。

例句：I have a cute dog. 我有一只可爱的狗。

Mr. Smith has short straight hair. 史密斯先生留着短直发。

二、问路及指路的表达方式

1.问路的句型

例句：Where is the post office? 邮局在哪儿？

Excuse me. Can you tell me the way to the Summer Hotel? 打扰一下，你能告诉我去夏日旅馆的路吗？

Is there a park near here，please? 请问这儿附近有公园吗？

How can I get to the nearest post office? 请问去最近的邮局怎么走？

Could you tell me how to get to the Bank of China? 你能告诉我去中国银行怎么走吗？

2.指路的句型

例句：It’s across from/near/next to the hospital.它就在医院对面/ 附近/ 旁边。

Go along/down this street. 沿着这条街往前走。

Turn left/right at…在……向左/ 右转。

Turn right at the third crossing, and then walk straight. 在第三个十字路口向右拐，然后一直朝前走。

Take the second turning on the right/left. 在第二个拐弯处向右/ 左拐。

3.表示方位的短语

（1）on the left/right 意为“在左/右边”。

例句：Who is sitting on your right?谁正坐在你的右边?

(2) next to…意为“在……的旁边，紧挨着……”。

例句：The pay phone is next to the library.付费电话紧挨着图书馆。

(3) in front of…意为“在……前面”。

例句：There is a tree in front of the house.房子前面有一棵树。

(4) behind意为“在……后面”。

例句：There is a cat behind the door.门后面有只猫。
