  neighbour名词，意为“邻居”，这是英式英语的拼写形式，在美式英语种常被写为neighbor。

  I believe that neighbours can take care of our son while we are out.

我相信我们外出期间邻居们会照顾我们的儿子的。

辨析：neighbour与neighbourhood

  neighbour，指附近的人或物，侧重指人。

The neighbours usually give them a treat of some candy.  邻居通常用糖果招待他们。

  neighbourhood，意为“邻近街区，居民区”，侧重指地方。

  We must keep our neighbourhoods clean and tidy.  我们必须保持我们的社区干净和整洁。

  It’s too expensive, I’m afraid.  恐怕太贵了。

  I'm afraid (that) he is ill.  恐怕他生病了。

  Many foreign visitors plan to visit the Great Wall this summer.  

很多外国游客打算这个夏天去长城游玩。

拓展：动词加-er或-or，变成从事该职业地人。

      teach-teacher，write-writer，work-worker，invent-inventor

注意：cooker不表示“厨师”，而指的是“灶具”，cook才是“厨师”。

  Hang Duoduo likes cooking like her father Huang Lei.   

像她的爸爸黄磊一样，黄多多也喜欢烹饪。

 most在此为代词，意为“大多数，大部分”，此时可以与of搭配使用。但most of后若跟名词，名词前需要有定冠词、指示代词或物主代词修饰；most of后若跟代词，应该跟宾格形式。

  Most of the people singing are women.  唱歌的人中，大部分是妇女。

  Most of them are teachers.  他们中的大多数是教师。

 most也可作形容词，意为“大多数的，大部分地”，修饰名词。

  Most students are good at English.  大多数学生擅长英语。

 most作副词，意为“很；颇”，相当于very。

  Thank you for a most interesting evening.  谢谢你让我度过了一个非常有意思地夜晚。

句型What be ... like?一般用于询问人物性格或事物地状况。

  -What’s your new classmates like?  你的新同学怎么样？

  -He is very kind.  他非常和善。

  -What’s the weather like in Nanjing in summer?  夏天南京的天气怎么样？

  -It is very hot.  非常炎热。

  helpful形容词，意为“愿意帮忙的；有用的”，在句中常作定语或表语。

  Zhang Hua is a very helpful student.  张华是个非常乐于助人的学生。

拓展：（1）helpful是由“名词help+-ful”构成的形容词。类似的词还有：

      careful 细心的   wonderful  精彩的   beautiful  漂亮的  colourful  色彩艳丽的

skill是可数名词，意为“技能，技巧”，它的复数形式是skills。
