Today we will tell about the National Book Festival in Washington, D.C.It is held on September 26th every year. For nine years, this outdoor event (大事) has brought readers and writers to the nation’s capital. It’s held to celebrate the love of learning through books.
This year, more than one hundred thirty thousand people came to the National Mall to hear the top writers and poets talk about their works. More than seventy writers and poets joined this year’s festival. Children were the most excited visitors. They just came to see their favourite writers.
The famous writer, Judy Blume, also took part in the festival. She has sold more than eighty million copies(副本) of her popular books to young people. These include(包含) “Are You There God”, “It’s Me, Margaret”, “Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing” and “Blubber”. She writes some difficult subjects in a way that young readers can understand, so they really love her books.

Answer the following questions.
In southern Portugal, scientists from the University of Edinburgh have recently found some fossil(化石) remains of a previously unknown species of a crocodile-like “super salamander”.
The species could grow up to six feet in length. It lived in lakes and rivers. It was part of a wider group of primitive amphibians(两栖动物) that were widespread at the time but died out in the end. They are the ancestors of modern amphibians such as frogs. They are believed by scientists to have lived at the same time the dinosaurs began their rule.
Steve Brusatte led the study. He said the new species had hundreds of sharp teeth. It looks somehow “strange”compared to anything today.
Feeding mainly on fish, it was at the top of the food chain. But it’s also a danger for newly appeared dinosaurs and mammals that moved too near the water.
The team says the finding confirms that this group of amphibians lived in a more diverse geographic area than had been thought.
The dig began in 2009 and took several years. The “super salamander” bones were discovered in a half-meter thick layer of rock in a hillside. The team hopes to raise funds to continue exploring the site.

On a cold winter night, two travelling angels stopped to spend the night in the villa (别墅) or a rich family. The rich man was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the warm guestroom of the villa. Instead, he gave the angels a small room in the cold basement (地下室). As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it.
The next night the two angels came to the house of a very poor, but kind farmer and his wife. After sharing the only food they had, the couple let the angels sleep on their only bed.
